Chubbsafes traces back to the Chubb brothers' lock workshop founded in 1818 in England. Since 2000 the Chubbsafes brand has been owned under licence by Sweden's Gunnebo Group. Older Chubb safes, often with a combination dial and a key lock, are still in use in Singapore offices and shophouses.
